Noi Bai International airport is located 45km north of the city of Hanoi. The airport is a major gateway to the country and many international and domestic carrier operate passenger and cargo flights from here.

Most Asian cities are served and Air France fly to Paris and Aeroflt to Moscow. Vietnam Airlines fly to many international destinations including Beijing, Frankfurt, Paris and Tokyo. Cargo carriers fly to Asia and Europe and include Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa Cargo and Singapore Airlines Cargo.

Buses and taxis offer connections to the city centre from the airport.
