This is the largest and busiest airport in Israel handling over 12 million passengers per year. The airport is located near the city of Lod, 15km southeast of Te Aviv and is one of two airports serving the Tel Aviv area. The airport is home to El Al, Israir Airlines, Arkia Israel Airlines and Sun d'Or Airlines.

The airport is connected to the cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa and Modi'in by the Ben Gurion Airport Railway.

Over 80 airlines operate services from this airport to Europe, USA and Asia.
